Rooney Family Law specialise in Family Law and as the name suggests only practise Family Law and are Accredited Family Law Specialists.
The firm has two accredited family law paralegals and an experienced secretary all of whom have worked in Family Law for many years.

Our experience has shown us that while some divorces are complicated others are simple. Our feeling is that if a divorce is straightforward then the fee should be reasonable. Clients should know exactly what the fee for their divorce will be and there should be no hidden charges.

We understand that applying for a divorce can be stressful. Our job is to obtain your divorce decree as quickly and hassle free as possible. Most cases will be straightforward but if there is a complication our qualified staff will be on hand to discuss and sort out any problem. Our qualified staff have many years of experience in obtaining divorces for clients.
Affordable
Our fees are extremely competitive.
There is no reason why a straightforward divorce should be expensive. There are court dues that require to be paid in every case. These costs are standard. Over and above the court cost there are fees charged by the solicitor. Traditional family law solicitors fees are far higher than our fees. We are able to keep our costs down because of our efficiency and use of technology. There are other companies whose fees may be lower but they do not employ legally qualified staff.
Our fixed fees, court fees included, with nothing further to pay:
Simplified divorce — £550 all in, which includes the £156 court fee. This is the route where there is no child of the marriage under sixteen and nothing financial left to resolve.
Undefended ordinary divorce — £1,550 all in, which includes £273 in court fees and sheriff officer service. This is the route where there is a child under sixteen, or where the divorce cannot be dealt with by the simplified procedure.

Where a case is not straightforward — a defended action, unresolved finances, a dispute about the arrangements for a child — a fixed fee cannot apply and the work is charged for the time it takes. We will tell you that before anything begins.
We charge £932.90 + VAT (£1119.48 total) and outlays for a Fixed Fee Ordinary Divorce and £290.83+vat (Total = £349) and outlays for a Fixed Fee Simplified Divorce.
